Our $500k Goal Reached!

We did it. Together.

On the evening of May 1, 2026, the Italian Home for Children community gathered at the Seaport Hotel Boston — and we reached our $500,000 Harbor of Hope Gala goal.

This milestone belongs to every person who made it possible: our generous donors and sponsors, our dedicated supporters, the extraordinary staff of #TeamIHC, and the community that has stood behind this mission for more than a century.

The night was everything we hoped it would be. The Seaport set a stunning backdrop — elegant, warm, full of energy — for an evening that reminded us why this work is so important. Silent auction and live auction items generated genuine excitement throughout the room, and the generosity of our guests was felt in every moment.

The heart of the evening came from guest speaker Kathryn Judge, who spoke with honesty and power about what it means to raise a child with profound autism — and how Italian Home changed the course of her family's life. Her son Ellis was introduced to the room, and his presence made everything we do concrete and real.

To every donor, sponsor, board member, staff member, and friend who contributed to this night — thank you. The funds raised will directly support the children and families who count on Italian Home for the care, stability, and hope they deserve.

The harbor holds true for us and the kids, families, and adults we serve.

Why Italian Home?

The demand for Italian Home for Children's services has never been greater. There is a waitlist for almost every program and thousands of people wait to receive the care they deserve. In addition, our care often extends beyond the model reimbursed by insurance and state agencies. This extra support provided to youth and families is not billable, however is critical to the success of the children and families we work with to avoid future hospitalizations and, ultimately, save lives. Your generosity to the gala directly impacts those we serve, helps us increase the number of lives we impact, and bridges the fiscal gap this organization faces every year.

Who are we?

Over 100 years ago, Italian Home for Children was founded to help the most vulnerable young people in the community - Italian-American children orphaned by the great flu pandemic. Today, we promote the resilience and well-being of youth, adults, and families - of all backgrounds - facing mental health and educational challenges. We offer a broad range of life-saving programs for children other agencies often cannot assist.
