We’ve had a busy spring at the Italian Home for Children with several groups volunteering to help out with yard clean-up and spend some time with the kids.
After a busy and tough week of MCAS testing, the children at our Maria Savioli Pallotta school were treated to a special day of fun with volunteers from BNY Mellon. Kids and volunteers did craft projects, played a new virtual reality game on tablets, and enjoyed time outside playing kickball and basketball on one of the first nice days of spring. The day was capped off with a pizza party in the school cafeteria.
Other groups including ConCERT Pharmaceutical, John Hancock, and Gap, Inc. helped us with the enormous amount of yard clean-up that was needed after a long, stormy winter. Thanks to their help, our 14 acres including the playgrounds, picnic area, and vegetable gardens are all ready for the children to enjoy during the warm weather. Volunteers from John Hancock even tackled chopping up a felled tree! We are truly grateful for all the help from our volunteers. It is amazing what they accomplish in a few hours.
We are always looking for more volunteers to help us spruce up our campus or provide a special day for the kids. More information about volunteer opportunities is available here.
