We are currently seeking an Applied Behavior Analyst that is passionate about ABA and working with youth and their families. The Applied Behavior Analyst works in our Community Based Programs, providing families with support, assessment, and interventions to address a child’s developmental and behavioral needs related to his/her diagnosis.
The Applied Behavior Analyst works as part of a team and oversees/guides the Assistant Behavior Therapist on how
to implement behavior modification plans with the child, track the progress the child is/is not making, and provides parent training.
The Applied Behavior Analyst makes an impact on the family’s quality of life, communication styles, and stability of

By traveling to the home and community, the Applied Behavior Analyst works with the parents and child in their environment on establishing structure and rules, developing independent skills, teaching self-regulation and soothing, and other such behavior management interventions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assessment and Treatment Planning
- Perform periods of observation and utilize assessment tools to determine behaviors and skills
- Identify goals and objectives in conjunction with family and other providers’ input
- Attend team and school meetings and perform school observations initially and regularly
- Design and supervise interventions; provide coaching and modeling for Assistant Behavior Therapist and
caregivers based on evidence based practices to implement objectives and teach replacement behaviors. - Run social skills programs for children
- Supervise each case; monitoring progress on goals/objectives of behavior treatment plan
- Address some of the following domains: cognitive functioning, safety, socialization, play and leisure,
community integration, vocational skills, coping and tolerance skills, self-help skills, language and
communication, attending and social referencing, and reduction of interfering or inappropriate behaviors - Participation in planful and meaningful discharge processes
- Develop positive connections and rapport with the child and family
Documentation
- Complete Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Action Plan
- Create individualized treatment plans with clearly stated, measurable goals and objectives with regards to
skills training, reinforcers, triggers, graduated exposure, and more - Complete written progress notes about content of each session in electronic medical record
- Document observations of the youth in school, home, and community environments
- Design documentation of data analysis with baseline behaviors then ongoing patterns of
improvements/setbacks including frequency, rate, symptom intensity, and duration - Obtain authorization for ongoing care/interventions for ABA and IHBS teams from private or public insurance plans
- Document work with collateral contacts or failed attempts to reach them
- Oversee creation of safety/risk plans as needed during times of crisis
- Provide discharge summary and recommendations upon client graduation from ABA or IHBS programs
Collateral Contact
- Work as part of a system of care team and attend regular team meetings to discuss progress
- Structure interviews with the child, family, and collaterals and provide leadership and modeling for strong
teamwork - Communicate regularly with collaterals to obtain updated clinical information and provide updates about
progress in treatment
Other duties
- Provide supervision and direction to the Assistant Behavior Therapist on the ABA team
- Prepare and facilitate trainings with other staff

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in a human service field required
- Working towards Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst (LABA) required.
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) highly preferred
- Strong leadership skills and ability to oversee paraprofessional staff in an in-home ABA program

ASSISTANT BEHAVIOR CLINICIAN

The Assistant Behavior Clinician (ABC) works in our In-Home Behavior Services and our In-Home Applied Behavior Analysis program, providing families with support and implementing interventions established by a masters level clinician to address a child’s developmental and behavioral needs related to his/her diagnosis. The Assistant Behavior Clinician works as part of a team and receives guidance from the Behavior Analyst to implement behavior modification plans with the child as well as to track the progress the child is/is not making through data collection and analysis. The ABC makes an impact on the family’s quality of life, communication styles, and stability of the home. By working in the home multiple times per week, the ABC works intensively with the parents and child on establishing structure and rules, developing independent skills, teaching self-regulation and soothing, and other such behavior management interventions. The ABC may also make phone calls in consultation to other providers/schools involved to hear about the child’s progress across other domains.

COMMUNITY BASED CHILD & FAMILY CLINICIAN

POSITION OVERVIEW
In-Home Therapy is an intensive therapeutic intervention designed to stabilize families in crisis in order to
reduce out of home placement. In-home therapists provide structured, family focused, strength-based, wrap-
around, clinical services to children/adolescents ages 3-21 and their families. IHT services are provided in the
home and community and are focused on increasing children/adolescents and the family system’s ability to
support kids in learning new skills to manage and overcome social, emotional, psychological, and
developmental struggles. In-Home Therapy is a wrap-around model of care and requires focus on supporting
kids and families in all life domains through both clinical as well as case management support.
This is a full time position requiring evening and weekend hours.

COMMUNITY BASED BEHAVIOR CLINICIAN

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Community Based Behavior Clinician works in our In Home Behavioral Services, providing families with support and interventions to address a child’s developmental and behavioral needs, such as ADHD, autism, and oppositional defiant disorder. The Community Based Behavior Clinician implements behavior modification plans and provides parent coaching. He/She likes to make an impact to improve the family’s quality of life, communication styles, and stability of the home. By traveling to the home at least once per week, but often many more times weekly, the Behavior Management Therapist works intensively with the parents and child on establishing structure and rules, developing independent skills, teaching self-regulation and soothing, and other such behavior management interventions.
The Community Based Behavior Clinician works very closely with the Behavior Monitor as a two-person team while providing support to the monitor and teaching this paraprofessional how to implement the functional behavior assessment and treatment plan established with the family.

THERAPEUTIC MENTOR

The Therapeutic Mentor will provide therapeutic skill building support to children and adolescents ages 3-21 in homes, schools and community settings. Therapeutic Mentors work in collaboration with the client’s treatment teams to assist the youth in learning new skills to manage the effects resulting from social, emotional, psychological, and developmental struggles. The TM requires knowledge and experience with children and young adults with a variety of high-risk behaviors.
Services include supporting, coaching, and skill building focused on age-appropriate daily living skills, age-appropriate social skills in many different environments (home, school, and community), emotional regulation skills, interpersonal communication skills, and problem solving and conflict resolution skills. FULL TIME CLINICIAN

POSITION OVERVIEW
A full time Master's Level Clinician (licensed or licensed eligible) who is clinically astute and has excellent interpersonal skills to join our team. Cranwood Children’s Services, is a program of Italian Home for Children. Clinician works with children, ages 5-12 that have experienced complex trauma and adversity that has impacted their ability to regulate themselves both socially and emotionally. The Clinician is responsible for case management of assigned cases and for serving as the primary contact for all family members and collaterals involved with the child.
The Clinician is also responsible for providing trauma informed clinical services to children and their families through individual, dyad, group, and family therapy both at the program and in the community. This clinical position requires a creative and dynamic practitioner who is strengths-based and operates from a trauma-informed lens. The Clinician works closely with the treatment team to ensure treatment is in line with agency standards, training, and philosophy while ensuring clients and families receive the highest quality of care.

DIRECTOR OF RESIDENTIAL CLINICAL SERVICES

The Director of Residential Clinical Services provides clinical oversight to IHC’s residential programs including intensive group homes and Community Based Acute Treatment units. The Director of Residential Clinical Services works closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess and make recommendations regarding trauma informed behavioral interventions and treatment planning for the children and families served. The Director continuously monitors and evaluates the milieu group therapy, clinical documentation standards, and clinical quality. The Director works with the clinicians, nursing, occupational therapy, psychiatry, and milieu management and staff to ensure treatment is in line with agency standards, training, and philosophy. The Director of Residential Clinical Services is responsible for performance management and evaluations of all clinical staff in Jamaica Plain and Cranwood residential programs. Travel to Cranwood required at least once per month. The Director serves as point person for residential prescribers as well.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILTIES
Programming:
- Ongoing assessment and evaluation of clinical programming, treatment options, and strategies
- Embrace, articulate, and ensure implementation of agency treatment philosophy within all residential programs including trauma informed care and behavioral interventions
- Oversight and management of the clinical internship program.
- Expand the therapeutic group programming in all dorms/houses with the assistance of Clinical Supervisors and Clinical Interns.
- Identify and provide relevant and effective ongoing trainings for staff to increase quality of care
- Regular meetings/discussions with milieu managers to ensure collaboration of clinical and milieu staff; addressing issues or related challenges including proposed solutions

Personnel:
- Participate in the hiring, orientation, and ongoing training of clinicians & clinical supervisors.
- Provide ongoing clinical training to various residential departments.

- 3 years post independent license required
- 3-4 years of experience working with children and families; experience providing treatment to children with social, emotional, and trauma concerns as well as mental health and developmental disorders
- Demonstrated supervisory experience required.
- Exposure to or practice of trauma informed care strongly preferred

The Nurse Monitor, whose main location is the Jamaica Plain Campus, is responsible for monitoring the required Medication Administration Program (MAP) to ensure compliance with DPH, DMH, and DCF regulations, licensing requirements, and MAP policies. The Nurse Monitor’s responsibilities are primarily focused on the professional development of non-nursing staff around medication administration, quality assurance of the MAP program, and compliance with regulations. The Nurse Monitor also serves as the primary First Aid/CPR trainer at the agency. Finally, the Nurse Monitor also spends some hours as a program nurse which includes support of children in the school, afterschool, CBAT, and group home dorms. He/she works with families, direct care staff, prescribers, clinicians, management, and outside providers. The Nurse Monitor is regularly scheduled for evenings and weekends in a rotation with the other program nurses. This position reports to the Nurse Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
MAP Analysis/Evaluation
- Provide initial and ongoing MAP training for staff
- Ensure compliance with MAP regulations and licensing requirements; stay informed and update policies and procedures when needed as a result of regulation changes
- Observe MAP certified staff administering medication to verify that they are following MAP policies, procedures, and protocols
- Assess certified staff according to procedures and protocol outlines in the current Approved MAP Curriculum and MAP Policy Manual
- Observe, no less than once every 12 months, all certified staff employed at the site prepare and administer medication in a manner consistent with all MAP policies, procedures and protocols
- Verify that the authorized prescriber’s orders are on site, current, and properly transcribed
- Verify that medications dispensed by the pharmacy correspond with those medications prescribed by the authorized prescriber
- Verify that all medication is being administered in accordance with the authorized prescriber’s written order
- Verify that medication is being properly procured and stored
- Review documentation of medications being administered at the site to ensure that proper clinical protocols are in place and are being observed, e.g., monitoring vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, and appropriate authorized prescriber notification
- Ensure MAP Supervisor’s timely submission and follow up of Medication Occurrence reports; review and analyze Medication Occurrence Reports to determine areas where further training or other intervention may be needed
- Assess issues and the technical function related to medication administration that may be unique to individuals served at a particular sites E.G side effects, liquid medications, vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, allergies and takes steps to ensure that certified staff are properly informed, educated and/or competent with regard to such issues
- Communicate with State MAP Coordinators regarding Technical Assistance reviews and report deficient practice by certified staff in accordance with MAP Policies 02-3 and 04-1
- Track program site current Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration and appropriate staff certification documentation
- Ensure that current versions of the MAP Policy Manual and MAP curriculum are readily available to all staff/programs
- Work collaboratively with program supervisory staff to identify and address, individually and collectively, medication administration related remedial training needs for certified staff
Training/Nursing Duties
- Provide regularly scheduled campus-wide First Aid/CPR/AED training (including (i.e. epi-pen, vital signs, etc.) and re-training; provide nursing related inservices upon request
- Provide overview of nursing department, nutrition, health and safety practices, and medication/side effects
- Collaborate with milieu staff and managers to triage and ensure that client medical and health needs are met including passing medication in CBAT program
- Attend medical appointments with children and serve as liaison, advocate, and communicator of the child’s needs
- Perform health assessments, complete documentation, and facilitate admissions and discharges
- Attend and actively participate in department meetings, treatment team, rounds, and required trainings
- Develop and implement groups with the children related to nursing topics such as hygiene, nutrition, and self-care
- Follow all policies and procedures outlined in nursing manual
- Participate in on-call Nursing Department consultation rotation; duties of medical assistant when needed
- Provide a safe, nurturing, caring atmosphere for all clients
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Current RN Licensure required
- Two years post nursing school to conduct medication administration reviews, audits, and trainings required
- BSN and Pediatric/psychiatric experience preferred
- Certification as First Aid/CPR trainer preferred, but training on site could be provided
- Skilled in both working independently and working collaboratively on a small team
