Our Annual Meeting was held on October 18, 2018 on our Jamaica Plain Campus. Over 60 people filled our gymnasium to catch up with each other and the happenings going on with our programs. The meeting was led by Dan Brennan, IHC's board chair. We recognized Deion, a 2018 graduate of the Pallotta School. He spoke to those gathered and shared his experience of how he was helped by the individualized education he received at our school. His speech was so powerful that he received a standing ovation.
We awarded State Rep. Paul Donato with the Community Champion Award. Leader Donato, who lived at Italian Home briefly as a child, brought a smile to everyone's face. Rep. Donato assured us that he and Rep. Paul McMurtry along with many of their colleagues are committed to supporting our work in the future.
Alan Jacobson, our CEO delivered his "State of the Italian Home" address. He thanked the dedicated staff who support him in serving the children and family in our care. Patti McKenna, SVP of Development, launched our 100th Anniversary Celebration with the introduction of our new tagline -- Where Compassion Meets Promise. This theme will guide our festivities which will include a special gala, a reunion, day of service, golf tournament, and other smaller gatherings. Susan Keays, SVP of Programs, introduced our 100th Anniversary Campus Improvement Initiative. She impressed upon everyone the importance of having a solid physical plant in order to serve children in the most efficient way. The meeting ended with campus tours and mingling.
