Annual Fund

Your donation allows the Italian Home to continue to provide the care, treatment and nurturing our children so desperately need.

There are several ways to make a gift to the Italian Home for Children.

 Outright Gifts
 Deferred Gifts
 Unrestricted and Restricted Gifts

Outright Gifts
An outright contribution is the most direct way to assist the Italian Home for Children.

Gifts of Cash:  Most gifts to the Italian Home for Children are cash contributions, which allow donors to receive full tax benefits to the extent of the law.

Gifts of Securities:  A gift of long-term appreciated securities, either publicly traded or from a private company, may provide greater tax advantages than a cash gift.

Pledges:  Commitments that are pledged to the Italian Home can be paid over an extended period.

Deferred Gifts
In many cases, a deferred gift enables a donor to make a more significant contribution to the Italian Home for Children than would be possible by an outright gift.  Most often, such gifts are also funded with cash or stock and take the form of life income arrangements, which generate income for the donor during his or her lifetime or for a term of years.  The principle then reverts to the Italian Home for Children.  The donor receives the immediate tax benefits while helping to carry on the mission of the Italian Home for Children.  Deferred gifts may be made through such vehicles as gift annuities, charitable remainder unitrusts, annuity trusts, and lead trusts.

Gifts may also be made in the form of real estate, life insurance, and personal property.

Unrestricted and Restricted Gifts
The majority of gift support to the Italian Home for Children is unrestricted, which allows the Home to use the funds where they are most needed and respond to opportunities and necessities.  Donors may also choose to restrict a gift and designate support to address a specific need or interest.

Capital Improvement Gifts

Funds raised for capital needs are necessary for the important and constant upkeep and improvement of the Italian Home’s facilities and grounds.  For more information on capital improvement needs at the Italian Home, please contact Richard Maglione, Director of Development at 617-524-3116 or email richard@italianhome.org.

Matching Gifts

If your employer has a matching gift program, you can literally double the amount of your donation to the Italian Home.  Check with your Personnel Department to see if your company has a matching gift program.  If so, simply enclose your company’s matching gift form with your donation to the Italian Home.

Planned Giving  (Bequests/Estate Planning/Etc.)

A gift by Will or other gift-planning vehicle can be an excellent way of supporting the Italian Home while having tax advantages as well.  For more information on including the Italian Home in your Will or other estate planning vehicle, please contact Richard Maglione, Director of Development at 617-524-3116 or email richard@italianhome.org.

Endowment

Gifts to the Italian Home’s Endowment Fund will help ensure that in times of economic uncertainty and/or government cutbacks, the Home will have the resources necessary to continue its mission.  Gifts to the endowment can be named and customized by the donor to support specific areas of interest.  For more information on making a gift to the Italian Home’s Endowment Fund, please contact Richard Maglione, Director of Development at 617-524-3116 or email richard@italianhome.org.
